A future Ontario Line stop — Distillery District — will be just steps from Canary District, placing residents at the heart of one of Toronto’s most connected transit hubs.

The station, recently renamed by Metrolinx (formerly Corktown), is part of a broader effort to better align station names with the neighbourhoods they serve — alongside updates like King West, Chinatown, and Leslieville.

For Canary District residents, this nearby stop means exceptional access across the city: a projected five‑minute subway ride to Union Station, plus seamless connections to the proposed East Harbour GO Station.

Recently renamed by Metrolinx, the stop formerly known as Corktown reflects an effort to ensure station names better represent the neighbourhoods they serve. The update also includes stations such as King West, Chinatown, and Leslieville.

Metrolinx has updated the name from Corktown to Distillery District, aligning it with the neighbourhood it will actually serve. This change is part of a broader update that also includes renaming the following stations: King West, Chinatown, and Leslieville.
