It is always a good feeling when you close deals on your personal properties. This Penthouse unit was my first investment property I ever purchased at the age of 25. The value has appreciated drastically over the years and this first purchase was one of the reasons I got into real estate as a profession. The thrill of saving up for a down-payment, and hunting for the right property and then finally being able to negotiate the best deal. My agent at the time showed me what it takes to be a thorough and dedicated agent, he understood what my needs and wants were and found me the perfect property the checked all the boxes off on my list. I will forever be grateful for the work ethics he showed me at such a young age, well before I became a licensed broker.

Growing up i never knew exactly what I wanted to be but I knew I had both the mind set and skill set of an entrepreneur. I dabbled in many things eventually finding my fate in the real estate world. Over the past 4 years, this journey has changed my life and I'm truly blessed to be working in a field where I can express my true passion while helping people find that perfect property allowing them to individually grow in the real estate world. This is one for the books...
In the midst of this pandemic, the Toronto Real Estate Market has not been affected. Sales are up 24% since last year.
Why you ask?
For one the interest rates are at an all time low. Although many people have lost their jobs, (my deepest sympathy goes out to anyone who has lost their jobs during these times) these were people in the service industry and not necessarily in the home buyers market. A good majority of people are still employed and working from home, which is looking like a new norm for many industries. People want to relocate from their smaller condos/homes to something more suitable to their new work at home lifestyles. These people are leaving the downtown core and purchasing outside of the GTA where they can get a better value. The downtown core has been hit hard (in both sales and leases) as many people are no longer in need or have access to the amenities that downtown has to offer. Many downtown investors were using Airbnb as a means of income, although with a halt to this platform, this means there are many owners not able to afford their monthly obligations and/or have put their properties up for a conventional lease, which has created an influx of leased properties currently on the market driving the prices down. I believe this will continue to decline but will most likely rise again when there is more security felt by the public throughout this pandemic.
