Despite the cold and rain, our community showed up in a big way at this year’s Annual Spring Food Drive — raising 565 lbs of food for Don Mills Community Share. 🙌

Every donation, every volunteer, every person who walked through that door made a real difference for a neighbour in need. 🫶

A huge shoutout to the Team Twisters — you brought the energy when the weather wouldn’t, and this community felt every bit of it.

Our Annual Spring Food Drive is happening this Saturday and the full experience is on. We’re set up under a large covered awning at Don Mills Collegiate and ready for a morning of giving and fun!

The government just made the biggest move we’ve seen to get construction moving again. 🏗️

Two major changes just dropped:

A temporary HST rebate — up to $130,000 back on a new home purchase. One year. All buyers, not just first-timers. New construction only — does not apply to resale.

Development charge cuts up to 50% for 3 years. These are the fees builders pay municipalities for roads, transit, and sewage. They’re a huge reason new projects haven’t penciled out — and those costs always get passed to the buyer.

Lower cost to build + lower cost to buy. That’s the play.

Will it be enough to bring stalled projects back? Still an open question. But this is the most serious push we’ve seen in a long time.

If you’ve been watching pre-construction from the sidelines — this is worth paying attention to.
