This wraps up the 7-part series on getting your lawn & garden ready for Spring 🌿
🌸 Feed Your Soil
• Add compost or quality soil
• Use slow-release fertilizer
• Mulch to retain moisture
🌷 Start Planting (at the right time)
In Toronto, wait until after the last frost before planting flowers & veggies.
🌳 Reset Your Lawn
• Rake out dead grass
• Overseed bare spots
• Fertilize & water regularly
⚠️ Quick Tips:
Don’t plant too early, skip soil prep, or forget mulch.
👉 A little work now = a healthier, greener summer garden.

TODAY continuing with Part 3 and 4

🌼 Get Ahead of Weeds
• Pull weeds while they’re small
• Focus on fast spreaders (like dandelions)
• Don’t let them take over your garden

🌸 Feed Your Soil
• Add compost or quality soil
• Use a slow-release fertilizer
• Mulch to lock in moisture
✨ Why It Matters
• Fewer weeds = less work later
• Healthy soil = stronger, fuller plants

✨ Pro Tip

May is the time to get your lawn and garden ready for a beautiful summer display 🌿
Part 1 & 2: Getting Started
🌱 1. Clear Out Winter Leftovers
Remove dead leaves, branches, and any leftover debris to give your garden a fresh start.
🌸 2. Prune (But Be Selective)
Trim back dead or damaged growth, but be mindful—some plants need a little more time before cutting.
✨ A little effort now sets the stage for a lush, vibrant season ahead.
Stay tuned for Parts 3–6 coming over the next few days!

In Toronto and Southern Ontario, a few hardy plants can go in the ground or containers in March or very early spring because they tolerate cold soil and light frost. These are some of the most reliable ones. 🌱❄️

🌳 1. Frame the Front Door
Create symmetry around the entrance.
• Use two identical planters with flowers or small evergreens.
• Popular choices include Boxwood or seasonal flowers like Pansy.
• Place one planter on each side of the door or steps.

âś… Why it works: Symmetry makes the entrance feel intentional and upscale.

🌷 2. Define Garden Edges
Sharp garden borders instantly make a yard look professionally maintained.
• Edge garden beds along the lawn.
• Add dark mulch to highlight flowers like Tulip or Daffodil.
• Keep the edge line clean and curved or straight.
✅ Why it works: Buyers subconsciously think “well maintained home.”
🌸 3. Add Colour Near the Walkway
Put bright flowers where people naturally look when approaching the house.
• Plant low colourful flowers such as Viola or Primrose.
• Keep them close to the front path, porch, or steps.
