This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling especially grateful for the people who make Westhills so special: our residents, neighbours, local businesses, partners, and everyone who helps make this community feel like home.

The holidays may be a little ways away, but good recipes are worth planning ahead for 😉

This year, we’re bringing a little piece of our community’s traditions together with the Westhills Holiday Recipe Book.

We’re inviting you to share a favourite holiday recipe and the story behind it. Maybe it’s been passed down through your family, something you make every year, or a newer tradition that has found its place at your table.

We’ll be bringing everyone’s recipes together into an online recipe book to share with the Westhills community this December. Do you have a recipe you’d like to contribute? ⬇️

Light Up the Hills is back for its 10th annual celebration of light, art, music, and community! Swipe to take a look at the official event map and get familiar with the route before you arrive ⬇️

And while you’re making your way through the festival, there are a couple of tasty spots to stop along the way:

☕ Rhino Coffee House will be OPEN during the event, serving up warm drinks to keep you cozy.

🍩 Noel's Mini Donuts and Fries will be in the Belmont parking lot for a sweet (or salty) pick-me-up.

Bringing your four-legged friend? Light Up the Hills is pet-friendly! Just remember that all pets must remain leashed and under control throughout the event.

A quick accessibility note: the full festival route is not completely wheelchair accessible and includes some inclines, a dirt-path section between Westhills Park and Jordie Lunn Bike Park, and a steeper incline at Jordie Lunn. Please consider your individual mobility needs when planning your route.

Today, we pause to reflect 🧡

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a day to honour survivors, the children who never returned home, and the families and communities affected by the residential school system. It is also an opportunity to learn, listen, and reflect on the ongoing work of reconciliation.

Today, we wanted to highlight a very special building close to home. Located off Langford Parkway, this mural, "The Vision for the Land," shares a story in honour of the late Mr. Henry Eng. Representing his desire for people to enjoy the land in harmony, it's an important reminder to consider the role each of us can play in the journey toward reconciliation.

We’re grateful to have this meaningful piece of art within our community, where its story can be seen and shared with those who pass by.

Please note that all Westhills show homes will be closed today.
