I sometimes joke with buyers that you can pay for a house with your wallet… or with your weekends. 💰🔨

Move-in ready usually costs more because someone else has already done the work. A less-polished house might save you money upfront — but cost you time, energy and a few Saturday trips to the hardware store. 😂

Neither is better.

The trick is knowing which person you actually are — not which person you think you’re supposed to be.

So… which are you?

Courtney and I met last fall through a women’s group, and a few months later, she and Cam asked me to help them buy their first home.

They had started looking the year before and then decided to take a step back for a while. When they were ready to try again, I was really honoured that they chose—and trusted—me to go through it with them.

Cam asked a lot of questions along the way. And I mean that as a compliment. Buying your first home is a big freaking deal, and he wanted to understand what they were doing and feel confident in their decisions.

This was the second home we offered on. Not getting the first one was disappointing, but it turns out they both like this house even more. Funny how that happens sometimes.

Today, they get the keys. 💜

Courtney and Cam, thank you for trusting me with such a big part of your lives. I am so, so happy for you both—and I can’t wait to see you make this place yours.
