The Real Estate Service Act requires a realtor to enter into a service agreement before providing any real estate services. (Example: Showing a home, providing current market evaluations, writing an offer, giving any real estate advice etc.)
When you list your home, you are required to sign a listing contract.
For buyers, as of January 1st 2022, it is now mandatory to sign a buyers contract as well! These agreements may be short term (one day), or long term (me representing you as your Realtor).
Same services, but more paper work for us!
The new contract will include:
- Identities of parties involved
- Description of the services provided (as mentioned above)
- Date the agreement was signed/will expire
- Any rights by either party to terminate said contract before it expires
- Compensation to the brokerage ( if applicable)
- Any other terms
