5 things to check when you're viewing a home.
1️⃣ Form & function. Will it work for your family now AND long-term? Changing this later is one of the most expensive fixes there is.
2️⃣ Mechanical, electrical & plumbing. Know the current condition and any upgrades that might be needed.
3️⃣ Structure. Foundation, windows, doors, insulation. You can't always see these, but you CAN ask questions.
4️⃣ Exterior. Roof & shingles, siding, fascia, soffit, eaves, grading, window wells, fencing, deck.
5️⃣ Cosmetics. Paint, flooring, cabinets, plumbing fixtures. Take mental notes on what you can update later vs. what needs attention right away.
Take your time walking through these components; it'll tell you whether the home is really the right fit for you.
