Behind every real estate transaction is a story.
I specialize in guiding my clients through Estate Sales and Power of Attorney Sales on behalf of a family member.
My clients had recently lost their mother and were named Executrix for their mother’s Estate. During the interview process at the home, one sister was very emotional, while the other was calm and seeking direction on where to begin the selling process.
It is complicated when entering into a home where loss of a loved one is present, and the fabric of family life, with the many memories of a life lived and celebrated are reduced to an unknown Realtor with a Market Evaluation.
This is where my compassion and shared experience of loss helped me to navigate my way through the process with the respect and dignity they, and their mothers memory deserved. This was a relationship that would last a year. It required joint effort by the sisters and their families to prepare the home for Listing. It is never a straight line from the initial meeting with the bereaved family, to the date of Listing the home. This is an emotional Journey that requires time to process a lifetime of memories, punctuated by the unravelling of the fabric of a loved one’s heart and home. Knowing that each of us experience loss in our own way, is key to assist the bereaved with the sale of the long- time family home.
The lesson here was that many people may require Time and my patience, to reach the goal of selling. Emotions of loss far outweigh the speed to the final sale. Respect for the bereaved and building a trusting and professional relationship will lead to positive results.
Loyalty and Integrity and Trust led to a successful sale.
