Pan Am Place

Pan Am Place Pan Am Place is a transitional housing program for young men (ages18-29) who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Founded in 2013, Pan Am Place (PAP) is a registered charity committed to helping homeless and at-risk youth in Manitoba become independent members of society. It is a physical bricks and mortar, four-floor facility in Winnipeg’s Exchange District that offers housing, nutritional, educational and occupational resources for up to 30, 18- to 29-year-old males who want to improve the quality of their

lives. Called a transitional youth housing and recreational facility project, the Pan Am youth-at-risk program is built around a highly challenging health and fitness routine where residents must complete four mandatory workouts per week that push their mental and physical abilities. Aside from the health benefits, every workout helps participants to strengthen their work ethic and exercise their ability to face life’s challenges head on. The program is designed to help residents increase self-esteem, strengthen social skills, reduce stress, improve mental focus and decrease aggression. One of the most unique aspects of the program is how the fitness component and commitment residents must make to physical activity at PABC help to teach discipline, which in turn enables residents to bring that to other areas of their lives. Pan Am Place (PAP) and the Pan Am youth-at-risk program were founded by Pan Am Boxing Club (PABC) head coach and president, Harry Black. Pan Am Place is the philanthropic initiative of Pan Am Boxing.
