As a Winnipeg Realtor, these are 5 things I think every newcomer should know before making the move:
1️⃣ Your housing budget will typically go much further here than in many other major Canadian cities. More house, more neighbourhood options & more yard!
2️⃣ Winnipeg has distinct neighbourhoods, and where you choose to live can have a big impact on your lifestyle, and overall experience.
3️⃣ Winters are part of life here, but so are beautiful summers, and plenty of outdoor activities - no matter what the season!
4️⃣ Most residents rely on a vehicle, while there is public transit, the city is spread out and most residents find a vehicle offers significantly more convenience & flexibility.
5️⃣ Downtown Winnipeg is different than most major cities. Our downtown is a lot smaller, more spread out, & the living situation is still developing. It does not offer the same dense, walkable lifestyle that you might find in cities like Toronto or Vancouver.
Relocating to Winnipeg can be an exciting opportunity, but having the right information makes all the difference.
