I had the privilege of attending the Mino’Ayaawag Ikwewag Housing Program orientation through Manitoba Tipi Mitawa, and it was incredibly powerful to witness so many First Nations women beginning their journey toward homeownership.

As an Indigenous woman and a realtor, this work means so much to me. Homeownership is more than just buying a house. It’s about creating safe, stable homes for families and building a future that can be passed down to the next generation.

This program does such important work by supporting First Nations women with financial literacy, education, and guidance throughout the home buying process. That knowledge and support can make all the difference when stepping into homeownership for the first time.

Seeing these women take this step is inspiring. The impact goes far beyond one home, it strengthens families, builds generational wealth, and uplifts our communities.

I’m grateful to witness and be part of initiatives like this that are creating real opportunities for First Nations women in Winnipeg.

One year in real estate complete 🤎

For those who are new here, my name is Alyx Lamy. My dad is from Crane River First Nation and my mom is from Poplar River First Nation. I grew up in a low-income household where homeownership didn’t always feel attainable.

Before becoming a REALTOR®, I worked behind the scenes in real estate for 8 years. I understood the contracts and the process, but I didn’t see a lot of people who looked like me in this industry.

That’s a big part of why I stepped into this role.

Another reason I became a realtor is because I want my clients to feel safe and supported. Buying a home is already stressful and intimidating. And I know that for many First Nations people, there have been experiences of feeling judged, dismissed, or unwelcome in professional spaces.

I want my clients to feel the opposite of that. I want them to feel respected, confident and informed.

In my first year, I’ve been part of 5 deals! I’ve represented buying, selling, and even commercial. Every single transaction taught me something and built my confidence. I’m especially proud that I was a top producing agent at my brokerage in October. That was super validating for me, the moment I really thought, “Okay… I can do this.”

What means the most to me though, is being trusted to help my clients build stability and generational wealth during one of the biggest purchases of their lives.

To my friends, family, and community thank you for sharing my name, referring me, and believing in me. It matters more than you know.

If you’re thinking about buying, selling, investing or you just have questions about real estate, my DMs are always open.

And if you’ve ever thought about getting licensed yourself and want to know what it actually takes, message me. I’m committed to creating space in this industry.

I’m grateful for this first year, and I’m excited to keep building.

Year two… let’s go!

Happy Valentine’s Day to my wife Angelina!

My biggest supporter, my partner in everything, and my personal chauffeur to my showings because somehow I’m a realtor who still doesn’t know how to drive 🤪

Thank you for everything you do for our family. We love and appreciate you so much. There’s no one else I’d rather eat heart-shaped pizza with. 🤎

9 Valentine’s Days down, forever to go.

Manitoba Real Estate 2025 Wrap-Up

2025 was a strong and active year for Manitoba’s housing market. Home sales were up about 4% compared to 2024, and the total value of homes sold rose roughly 10%. Prices generally increased, especially for detached homes, while inventory remained tight, creating a seller-favored market in many areas.

In Winnipeg, demand was strongest for mid-range homes and condos, while surrounding areas saw even more growth. Despite rising prices, Manitoba stayed relatively affordable compared to other provinces, keeping buyers engaged.

By the end of the year, the market was moving toward a more balanced state, giving both buyers and sellers opportunities if they plan ahead. Heading into 2026, the outlook remains positive for those who are informed and ready to make a move.

If buying or selling is on your mind this year, I’d be happy to help you make a plan that works for you.

Yesterday, I attended a round dance held in solidarity with Pimicikamak Cree Nation (Cross Lake).

Following a power outage on December 28, 2025, the community declared a state of emergency. Although power has been restored, extreme cold has caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure, including water systems leaving many residents without safe, livable conditions.

The Canadian Red Cross has now launched the 2026 Pimicikamak Cree Nation Crisis Appeal to support the community during this ongoing emergency.

If you’re able, please consider donating. I’ve added the link to my bio. Every bit helps. 🤎

As we enter 2026, I’m completing my first year in real estate and I have so much to be grateful for.

Licensed in February 2025, I’ve had the opportunity to represent both buyers and sellers in residential transactions, while also gaining experience in commercial real estate.

I’m incredibly proud to share that I became a top-producing agent in my first year.

Thank you to my clients for trusting me with such an important milestone, and to everyone who has supported, shared, and engaged with my content. It truly makes a difference in helping me get my name out there.

In 2026, I plan to continue showing up with intention and representing Indigenous people in the real estate industry. My goal is to support Indigenous families through the buying and selling process while explaining things in a way that feels clear, accessible, and easy to understand. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and safe to ask questions especially in an industry that can feel intimidating when you don’t see yourself reflected in it.

Onto 2026! 🤎

This week I attended the 38th International Two Spirit Gathering.

There’s something so special about unplugging from the busyness of everyday life and being surrounded by my Two Spirit kin. When we come together, we laugh, we cry, we share stories, and we hold space for one another.

I always leave feeling refreshed, uplifted, and more grounded in who I am. These gatherings remind me of the strength of our ancestors, the importance of community, and how vital it is to nurture those bonds in our daily lives.

I return home with joy, teachings, and a renewed energy to move through the world with love, resilience, and purpose. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.

How do you reconnect with your community or recharge your spirit?
