The second project selected through our open call 4 Transformations for Berlin, currently being developed by our team at Aedes Architecture and Space, is Frankfurter Allee!
Around Frankfurter Allee station, our team will investigate how new high-rise development can improve the wider urban environment. Submitted by the district administration of Lichtenberg, with a private landowner’s proposed tower providing a starting point, the brief addresses a well-connected but fragmented area where transport and retail dominate.
The proposal will focus on connections between the station, neighbouring residential areas and public spaces, improving pedestrian comfort and transfers between modes of transport while introducing more greenery and places to spend time.
Our exhibition CHYBÍK + KRIŠTOF = Building the Existing City connects this challenge with our past project – Nusle Brewery neighbourhood in Prague.
Project details are now on display at Aedes Architecture and Space.
Everyone is welcome to visit throughout the six-week exhibition, talk to our team, participate, and follow the design process as it unfolds.
The final proposal will be presented at the exhibition closing on 3 December.
