What a job!
When we arrived we were faced with another landscaper who had started the job and disappeared!
This always faces us with a problem, who’s at fault? It’s hard to say the customer blames the builder and maybe the builder would blame the customer. All we have is our gut.
We moved forward and shortly after starting it was clear the previous landscaper was at fault. Everything they had done had to be ripped out, we saved most of the materials which is a bonus.
For context with the blocks we used we needed at least 200mm of cover from the finished height and it was less than 150mm everywhere and barley 10mm in places, meaning once we took the stone down to the level needed to get the blocks in we would have had about 50mm of stone in places at best. This isn’t anywhere near enough.
There was also no membrane down so while we was digging out we added this also.
Really pleased with how it came out, even adding some scraps of composite decking we had to the door front so it won’t rot out again.
