We were saddened to hear the recent news about National Timber Group entering administration. Our thoughts are with the many individuals, teams and families affected during what will be an incredibly difficult time across the industry.

The timber community is built on people…their skills, their livelihoods, and their dedication to a material that remains vital to the UK’s growth and sustainability. Moments like this remind us how interconnected our sector truly is.

At PTG Treatments, we remain fully committed to supporting the timber industry and championing timber as a key product for the future of UK construction.

Another batch treated and ready to go!

Industrial pre-treatment with preservatives is the most reliable way to ensure a long and useful service life for perishable softwoods such as Pine and Spruce.

At PTG Treatments, we use the latest application technology and preservative systems to enhance both the durability and natural appearance of timber for many years to come.

The treatment and application process depend on the end use…with high-pressure treatments suited to high-hazard situations such as outdoor or ground-contact timber. The timber shown here has been treated using our high-pressure process and is now ready to go!

Your garden fence is out there 24/7…rain, shine, frost, and everything in between. 🌧☀❄

Without the right protection, timber fencing can quickly suffer from rot, decay, or insect attack.

That’s where PTG Treatments comes in. Our high-pressure preservative treatments pe*****te deep into the wood, creating a long-lasting shield that helps your fencing stay stronger for longer…no matter what the British weather throws at it!

From single panels to full batches, we’ll make sure your fencing is ready to stand tall for years to come.

What does Pressure treated mean?

Treatment Process…

Treatment is performed in high-pressure autoclaves to force the preservative deep into the timber for long-lasting protection. Timber is loaded into the treatment vessel and the door sealed. A vacuum is then created inside to remove air from the timber. The vessel is flooded with preservative before pressure is applied to force the liquid into the wood. After the solution is removed, a final vacuum is created to eliminate excess preservative. The preservative is returned to storage, and no waste is generated from the process. The freshly treated timber is then stored undercover until it dries before dispatch. Process times vary depending on the treatment specifications but typically range from 90 to 300 minutes.

Sentrin Preserve HP (high pressure) treated timber has built-in long-term protection against fungal decay and insect attack. It is suitable for use in external situations such as fencing, decking, landscaping, and structural components. It can be used both in and out of ground contact and is also suitable for general construction timber. Timber is treated under high pressure to achieve the required pe*******on and preservative retention; the service life depends on the timber species and intended use. Correct specification will ensure the right level of protection and the desired service life.
