Tree-lined streets, independent cafés, green spaces and a strong sense of community have made Chorlton one of Manchester's most sought-after places to live. Before long, Chorlton Grange will become part of this thriving neighbourhood.

The development is on track for its first handovers in Q1 2027.

The twelve homes on Acre Lane are now roofed, while first-fix works, including stair installations, are well underway. The six apartments have reached roof level, with the roof structure due to commence shortly. The four homes fronting High Lane have also progressed beyond DPC level, enabling the next phase of construction to begin.

A big thank you to Kev, Jed, Dan and Paul for their continued hard work and dedication in bringing the development to life.

Brick by brick, our Hyde scheme is taking shape. 🧱

Masonry works are moving ahead at our residential scheme, where we’re constructing 25 new properties, alongside plans to refurbish part of the adjoining building to create a further six apartments.

As works progress, space on site is getting tighter, so careful logistics and sequencing are key to keeping everything moving safely and efficiently.

Another challenge our site team is handling with precision. 👷

From Seaton House to The Print House. 🏗️

Our Stockport town centre site, currently known as Seaton House, is progressing towards becoming The Print House, a new five-storey, 40-apartment development.

Boundary retaining walls are in place, reduced-level works are progressing and piling has begun.

With space at a premium, careful sequencing is key. Rob, Ged and Hamza are drawing on their experience of working on restricted sites, with support from SMBC Highways helping the team create the space needed to work safely and efficiently.

Once complete, The Print House will form part of the wider regeneration of Stockport town centre.

A well-run site tells its own story.

At our Lymm residential project, every stage is being carefully prepared before the next begins.

With the substructure now complete, the site team, Carl, Hamza and Tony are setting the standard for an organised site as they prepare for the ground floor screed, followed by superstructure masonry across five new homes.

Clean, considered and ready for the build to rise above ground.

A new home for early years learning has arrived!

Last week, we were proud to successfully hand over Kids Planet’s brand-new nursery in Sandymoor, Runcorn.

The 5,500 sq ft nursery was completed on time and to our usual high standards, thanks to the hard work of Ashley Taylor, Tony Corr, Max Webster and Sue Ashton. The new learning space is now fully furnished and ready to welcome its first children in early September. ✨

A successful project is always a team effort, so we’d like to thank the client’s design team for their continued support: Gary Boyle at Gary Boyle Associates, John Lingard at Design and Jonathan Hayes at STL Projects Ltd.

We’d also like to thank for continuing to put their trust in Short Construction. It’s been a pleasure to work alongside the team and see their growth over the past few years.

A new chapter is taking shape in the heart of Stockport! 🏗️✨

At Overbanks, the apartment scheme is bringing modern living to the town centre.

We are thrilled to share that roof construction on the new wing is now nearing completion. This site will soon transition into a vibrant community where people live, connect, and make new memories.

We’re incredibly proud to be delivering this development on behalf of Britannia Group, directly supporting the ongoing regeneration of Short Construction’s home town.

Site Manager Rob Dunley reflects on a year of learning and collaboration, working across both the operations and commercial sides of the business to keep projects running effectively.
