Here's what he had to say about starting his journey with us, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to join Short Construction and gain valuable industry experience whilst studying at the University of Salford International.

“I am looking to gain practical experience in Quantity Surveying and continue developing the skills and knowledge needed to work towards becoming a qualified QS. I hope to learn from experienced colleagues, gain a better understanding of the industry, and contribute positively to the team.”

Construction continues at pace within our High Lane development, with significant progress now visible across both the housing plots and apartment block. 🏗️

Latest progress includes:

🧱 House brickwork nearing completion
🏠 Roof structure works commencing soon
✨ Striking pressed metal cladding to define the contemporary design
🏢 Apartment block progressing through the final stage of brickwork before roof works begin

Week by week, the vision for these 22 luxury homes is becoming more visible as the development moves towards its next phase of construction.

We asked our Not So Short Walk team to describe the journey in three words, and this is what they said.

6 days. 184km. One very personal mission for Autisk 💙

Today, we reached the final destination of our Not So Short Walk, the summit of Snowdon! ⛰️

Day 5: 184km completed! 🗺️ We’ve walked from Cheadle to Snowdon. ⛰️

Day 4: Today’s coastal route took us through the picturesque seaside town of Colwyn Bay, with incredible views lifting our spirits. 🌊 From there, we pulled our socks up and passed the historic town of Conwy, home to the famous fortress, Conwy Castle. 🏰

With the longest and toughest days behind us, the team felt renewed, positive and determined as we stepped towards Bangor.

Every mile is helping us raise awareness and support for Autisk, and we are so grateful for all the encouragement so far.

Day 3: We’ve surpassed the halfway mark and have walked an incredible 123.35km! 👣

Today, we crossed into North Wales before reaching our destination: Abergele.

Mentally and physically, this is the toughest challenge any of us has ever faced, but walking for a charity whose mission is so personal to us is keeping us going.

Autisk supports so many families across Stockport and the surrounding areas, helping SEND children receive the support they deserve.
