Door entry systems can work off a GSM SIM card like a mobile phone. If you have an entrance some distance from your house, or if you have a block of flats and do not want to run multiple cables to multiple apartment handsets, you can install a GSM system which will call mobile phones. The recipient of the call can unlock (or open if automated) the door or gate from anywhere in the world. If you have an automated gate, you can send a FREE text to the unit, and the gate will be open ahead of your arrival in your car.

This is a Google Maps image of Wells Next the Sea. This is at the very top end of Norfolk. I had to quote for an automated door-opening system for Norfolk Council for a young male wheelchair user. The law requires that a risk assessment takes place before any design, so it was a drive of 4.5 hours there and 4.5 hours back for a 40-minute survey. The sea was 200m from the house I visited, not overrun by tourists; in fact, a very quiet place to visit. The drive along the waterfront just gave me a little bonus for such a long drive.

APARTMENT DOOR ENTRY TO WI-FI
The photograph shows a typical video door entry system commonly found in a large block of flats. Simply put, somebody comes to the main entrance building door; they call you; you walk to your apartment door, where this will be installed; and you speak to and view the caller and press a button to let them in.
You are not letting them into your apartment; you're letting them into the main building through the main building door. That's what this unit does.
However, what if you're disabled and cannot get to this unit? What if you're not at home?
Well, there is a way around this: we can connect most of these units to Wi-Fi and then to a mobile phone and, for example, a desktop speaker like an Echo or Nest.
What happens then is that somebody comes to the main building's front door, and your desktop speaker, be it a Google Nest or an Echo unit, and your mobile phone will ring, allowing you to speak to the caller and let them in. You will not be able to see them, but you will be able to speak to them and let them in.

This is a wireless intruder alarm control panel, which means all detection devices and the siren do not require cable runs. If the alarm is triggered, it will alert as many mobile phones as needed via the customer's Wi-Fi. It will not only inform of the alarm activation but also when and which devices have activated. The user can arm and disarm the alarm from anywhere in the world, and if required, the alarm can alert a user's phone each time it is armed or disarmed. It can also be armed and disarmed using its keypad.

This is a long-range proximity card; it's about the same size as a credit card but thick enough to contain a battery. We use these for those who do not or cannot operate something such as an automated door, a door lock, an automated gate or a barrier. As the user approaches, the card is seen by a card reader, and an activation signal is sent. So, by just approaching the system (automated door, gate, barrier or lock), it will unlock and open. We can adjust the pickup range from 1 to 9 metres.
