A trip to Markinch this week where water had been running behind the sealant around a shower tray and down into the Utility room.

Unfortunately the ceiling in the Utility room had been clad with PVC so the first of the Customers being aware of the problem was when it started running through the cladding!

The leak had caused damage to the plasterboard and coving, however a couple of days repairing around the shower tray/tiles in the Shower room and then the ceiling in the Utility room and we now have the place ready for the plasterer.

Oh and not to forget running new cables for the Downlights so these are all concealed.

A trip to Burntisland this week to fit a small shower screen, radiator and PVC ceiling.

Customer was fed up replacing radiators due to water leaking from the shower curtain and asked for a solution.

Small window repair for a Customer in our street today…..should keep the window going for a good few years 👍🏻

South Queensferry today for a repair to a shower cubicle.

I'm not sure what I hate most....tiles.....or seats in shower cubicles?

Another example of where the grout has cracked between the tiles and allowed water to seep below. It didn't help that the timber frame below the seat wasnt strong enough and had been clad with plasterboard as opposed to plywood.

A bit tricky with it being a bespoke shower screen, however I managed to get all the damaged framing out without damaging any tiles and new framing installed with 2 layers of plywood.

Adhesive removed from the back of the tiles and secured back to plywood.

Left like it had never happened! 😉

Bit more work in our own home, just a small bit of paintwork, new carpet and curtains and that’s one room finally finish...

Really happy with how the Oak handrail and newal post caps really make it "pop" 🙂

🤬🤬🤬🤬 Tiles…….another example of why I hate….absolutely hate….tiles.

Luckily in this case, the damage was limited to the plasterboard with only staining to the timber frame.

However it still meant removing all the damaged boards, fitting new moisture resistant plasterboard, removing the adhesive/grout from the back and edges of the tiles before refitting them.

This should keep the shower cubicle functional until the Customers are in a position to refurbish the En-suite.

Early start at sunny Burntisland today for repairs to a dormer window.

The weather had taken it's toll to this property which sits facing the sea front.

All the existing cover plates were stripped off, some small repairs carried out to the sash boxes and then new mahogany cover plates fitted with screws to prevent them cupping with the sun.

Oh yes, and for those eagle eyed followers, the rain prevented us fitting the replacement timbers forming the pillars below the decorative mouldings, however we called back and fitted these prior to the Painter finishing the work.

All nice and safe now for loading ladders and materials on the roof of the new van.
