Bathroom makeover for a new Customer in Camelon, Falkirk.

And guess who forgot to take the “before we started photo” 🙄.

Along with the replacing the bath with a shower, removing the bulkhead which ran along the window wall opened up valuable space in what was a small room.

The Customer now has an easy access, low maintenance shower room.

A new Customer in Culross had asked for the old whirlpool bath bath and step to be removed and replaced with a new bath, shower and screen. The step was proving to be more of a hazard than help when getting in and out the bath.

Not the easiest of jobs when the original bath had been bedded into the walls at both sides to make it fit, fixed to a metal frame to the floor and the walls just patched up with bits and pieces of timber to get the wall boards to stick 🤬

Water had also been seeping through the silicone seal around the bath causing damage and rot to the wet wall panels and floorboards.

So as you can see, the previous install had hidden a few problems, however after a hard few days I managed to get the area looking nice for the Customers.

Tiles were patched in where the step was removed as the floor is being replaced at a later date.

Bathroom makeover for a returning Customer in Dunfermline.

Old tiles/plasterboard removed and replaced, bulkhead formed at end of bath, new Bristan overbath rainfall shower mixer with double bath screen, victorian mixer taps, new vanity unit, all finished off with porcelain tiles.

Customer is now in the process of painting the new wall panels behind the WC and vanity unit which will transform the room.

Big thanks to Donald Munro from Plumbrite for the great job with the tiling.

And we're done!

A transformation from where we were last Friday, when the boss plaster behind the bath and a rotten area of flooring set us back slightly.

Carefully chosen composite wall boards, PVC ceiling and LVT flooring help retain the traditional feel in this property, complimented with an on trend drawer vanity unit and resin basin.

The remaining walls and woodwork were painted, giving the Customer a clean, neutral finish and plenty of flexibility for future décor choices.

As always, a big thanks to my Son Matthew for giving me a hand with this one.

Burntisland this week for a new Customer.

People often ask me why I no longer offer tiling…..and why I don’t like tiles where there is a shower……well here’s another example.

Loose tiles around the bath had allowed water to soak into the brick wall and bulkhead.

Plaster hacked off back to the brick and then packed out with OSB and plywood……and an area of rotten floorboards, joists and bulkhead cut out and replaced.

As you can see, a sleek 30mm high shower tray going into this one, will post an update of the finished work in a few days time.
