Connect Dungannon can confirm that a vehicle collided with the front of our premises in the early hours of this morning, causing damage to the building’s front façade.
Fortunately, the impact did not damage the front glass window and, most importantly, no pedestrians were in the immediate area at the time. Given that our premises front directly onto a busy bus stop, we are extremely relieved that no members of the public were standing nearby when the incident occurred.
We are also pleased to learn that none of the occupants of the vehicle sustained any serious injuries.
At the time of the accident, members of Brookes Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club, which operates from the ground floor of the building, were training inside the premises. Thankfully, no one within the building was injured.
Our immediate priority is to assess the extent of the damage to the external wall and security shuttering and to ensure the building remains safe and secure while repairs are carried out. We are working closely with the relevant authorities and contractors to complete the necessary inspections and remedial works as quickly as possible.
