A lot of people don't think about their chimney until the first cold evening of autumn when they light their stove or open fire for the first time.

Unfortunately, that's often when problems are discovered.

Summer is actually the ideal time to carry out chimney repairs and maintenance, including:

🔥 Wood Burning Stoves Are NOT Being Banned 🔥

There seems to be a lot of confusion at the moment regarding wood-burning stoves, air quality regulations and rumours of future bans.
The reality is that there is currently no ban on wood-burning stoves. However, there is an increasing focus on cleaner burning, using the correct fuels and ensuring appliances are properly maintained and swept.

As a HETAS Registered Installer and Sweep Technician, one of the most common issues I come across is poor-quality fuel being used in otherwise perfectly good appliances. Even the best stove will struggle to perform efficiently if it's fed wet logs or poor-quality fuel.

A few simple tips:
✔ Burn only dry, seasoned or kiln-dried wood ✔ Have your chimney swept regularly
✔ Ensure your stove is serviced and maintained
✔ Use the correct fuel for your appliance
✔ Never burn treated timber, painted wood or household waste

Recently completed the installation of this stunning Hunter Parkray Aspect 8 wood burning stove, finished with an Italian black slate hearth and a completely bespoke porcelain surround, and what a transformation it turned out to be. 👌

The customer had a clear vision from the start and we worked closely together every step of the way to bring it to life exactly how she imagined it.

The Hunter Parkray Aspect 8 not only looks incredible, but it also throws out a serious amount of heat, making the room feel warm, cosy and inviting within minutes of lighting. 🔥🏡

To ensure the installation met current Building Regulations and performed as efficiently as possible, a direct air kit was installed directly into the stove. This allows the appliance to draw combustion air from outside, helping to eliminate unwanted draughts within the room while improving overall efficiency and performance.

We recently completed the installation of an ACR Tenbury T400 multifuel inset stove, transforming an inefficient open gas fire into a highly efficient and cost-effective heating solution.

The customer wanted to retain the existing fireplace surround, so we carefully installed the stove to preserve the original character while significantly improving performance and heat output.

Popped over to CMH Home Fuels in Charlwood today for a catch-up, always good working alongside people you trust 🤝 (they keep you stocked with quality logs, I keep your chimneys safe 🔥).
