A trio of appointments at Xburo!

We're really pleased to welcome three new engineers to the team — strengthening
our mechanical, electrical and design advisory services across the UK.

Scott Thomson joins as Associate Electrical Engineer. He's led
multidisciplinary teams on schemes valued from £100m to £1bn across the
UK and internationally, including a period working in Dubai.

Hardy Hamilton is our new Mechanical Engineer, specialising in the
design and co-ordination of mechanical building services across healthcare,
defence, leisure, residential and commercial fit-outs.

Samuel McCrossan joins as Electrical Design Engineer, bringing strong onsite electrical installation and commissioning experience. He recently completed the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations.

Xburo is expanding our successful apprenticeship initiative launched in 2023, and we’re excited to welcome new talent into our team.

🎓 University study completing a BEng (Hons) at Glasgow Caledonian University
✨Hands‑on experience across our professional services teams
🏗️ Site visits to live projects alongside qualified Mechanical and Electrical experts
🌟 Our programme is already delivering results.

Josh, our first apprentice, joined straight from school. He has since graduated from college and is now in his first year at Glasgow Caledonian University — all while building two years of practical experience with our expert team.

This year marked our 7th successful year, and what a journey it’s been!

✅ Team Growth – Promotions for Jack Hannigan, Liam McAdie, John Duncan-Anderson, and Joe Viola.
✅ Leadership & Expansion – Under the guidance of Thomas Brady, Michael Gribben, Ian Menzies, and Andrew Lyons, we achieved significant growth and strengthened our presence across Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London.
✅ New Appointment – Welcoming rugby legend Al Kellock as Non-Executive Director to share his expertise on building winning teams.
✅ Future Talent – Launching our apprenticeship programme and supporting students through scholarships at Glasgow Caledonian University, the UK’s No. 1 Modern University.
✅ Community Support – Continuing sponsorships for golfers Jayla Kepler and Megan Docherty, and GHK Rugby’s Leo Finlay.

🟢 A massive congratulations to our engineering apprentice Josh Mcivor!

From joining Xburo straight out of school as an apprentice engineer to graduating from North Kelvin College, Josh has shown incredible dedication.

Now, he’s taking the next step in his career by starting the Building Services programme at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU)!

We’re proud to support Josh on his journey as an apprentice engineer and we can’t wait to see what he achieves next. 👏

177 Bothwell Street was a collaborative effort to deliver a ‘Cat B’ fitout over 23,000 sq.ft within a BREEAM excellent sustainable office development in the heart of Glasgow.

🟢 Working closely with NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and Public Health Scotland (PHS), Xburo was proud to work alongside Doig+Smith, Clark Contracts and PREAH Building Services, Austin-Smith:Lord and 56three Architects.
