⛳ Xburo Golf Day 2026

The weather? Dreadful. The company? Splendid.

Turns out there's more than just engineering on show at an Golf Day!

Michael Gribben and Thomas Brady are proving they can turn their hand to content as well as consultancy, and they've been hard at work editing to bring you the final cut of the day.

Rest assured Liam McAdie, there'll be another one next year, and it's only going to be bigger and bolder.

There are some crackers in here. Thanks again to everyone who joined us, clients and team alike, for making the day what it was.

It was another golf extravaganza for the Xburo UK Ltd team. ⛳

This year, the location was Gullane Golf Club, where the scene was aptly described as:

"Gullane Hill, with the sun shining and the wind blowing, the black clouds banked beyond the Forth, and just a glimpse in the distance of the mighty tracery of the Forth Bridge, is one of the most beautiful spots in the world." Bernard Darwin (1934)

While the sun didn't quite shine, the wind blew, and there were definitely black clouds banked beyond the Forth; none of that dampened the spirits of our 40 golfers. They took the rough with the smooth, and the day was another highlight in our calendar. ☔

We welcomed a host of clients and Xburo team members to our day!

🎉 Big news from Xburo!

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Xburo has secured a significant investment partnership with Chiltern Capital, and we could not be more excited about what lies ahead.

What does this mean? It means we are growing. The investment will support Xburo's geographical expansion, as well as enabling us to expand our services and the number of engineers we recruit.

We started out in Edinburgh and Glasgow with a big vision and a brilliant team, and today that vision is becoming a national platform. From healthcare and education to defence and critical infrastructure, Xburo is on the map, and we are just getting started.

None of this would be possible without the incredible people who make up this team. Every engineer, every project, every late finish and every problem solved, thank you. And to our clients, thank you for trusting us.

A trio of appointments at Xburo!

We're really pleased to welcome three new engineers to the team — strengthening
our mechanical, electrical and design advisory services across the UK.

Scott Thomson joins as Associate Electrical Engineer. He's led
multidisciplinary teams on schemes valued from £100m to £1bn across the
UK and internationally, including a period working in Dubai.

Hardy Hamilton is our new Mechanical Engineer, specialising in the
design and co-ordination of mechanical building services across healthcare,
defence, leisure, residential and commercial fit-outs.

Samuel McCrossan joins as Electrical Design Engineer, bringing strong onsite electrical installation and commissioning experience. He recently completed the City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations.

A big welcome to all three — we're delighted to have you on board 🎉

🟢 A massive congratulations to our engineering apprentice Josh Mcivor!

From joining Xburo straight out of school as an apprentice engineer to graduating from North Kelvin College, Josh has shown incredible dedication.

Now, he’s taking the next step in his career by starting the Building Services programme at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU)!

We’re proud to support Josh on his journey as an apprentice engineer and we can’t wait to see what he achieves next. 👏

We welcome Saoirse to Xburo HQ as part of our initiative to help young people experience the world of engineering and the world of work.

The fourth-year pupil is on work experience and is visiting our Glasgow HQ offices to support our marketing, communications, and branding work.

Saoirse is working alongside our communications consultant Roisin-Alana Di Giacomo and is learning about how our engineering firm promotes the company and its people through marketing, social media, stakeholder engagement and content.

As a leading mechanical and electrical engineering firm, working in the spheres of healthcare, defence, commercial, residential, educational, logistics and transport, Saoirse will be finding out about how Xburo communicates its message by using her digital skills.

She will be helping Xburo utilise digital and content resources to maximise their potential online as well as learning from our brilliant team of engineers.

Saoirse is one of a number of young people Xburo has welcomed to the team in recent months as we are always keen to facilitate opportunities. ⚫️🟢
