It had been a family home for years. Now another family gets to make it theirs. 🏡
The previous owners had lived at 26 Corporation Road, Loughor for a considerable time. It was a real family home, and although it needed updating, there was still so much to love about it.
But taking on a house like this is a big decision.
There was a lot of work to do, including damp issues that needed looking into. For many buyers, it would have been too much to take on. You needed to look beyond how it was presented, understand the work involved and have a vision for what it could become.
That was part of our thinking behind the AI concept pictures we included in the marketing.
They divided opinion. Some people asked why we would want to change such a beautiful house. I understood that — it had character, and that was part of its appeal. We wanted to help people imagine how they could make it their own while keeping what made it special.
Then came buyers who had been looking for a project for some time.
Already living locally, they saw the opportunity to create the family home they had been hoping for. A house to put their own stamp on, settle into and make memories in, just as the previous owners had done.
After 22 viewings and six offers, the sale completed on 14 September — 69 days after launch.
Those are the figures behind the sale. But the lovely part is knowing that a house which meant so much to one family now has the chance to mean just as much to another.
