🏡 How Long Does It Really Take to Sell a Property? ⏳

One of the most common questions we're asked is:

"How long will it take to sell my house?"

The honest answer is... it depends.

However, a typical sale in England & Wales usually takes around 3–5 months from marketing to completion.

The journey often looks like this:

🎬 Property Preparation
Terms & Conditions signed, Videos & photos done

📍 Property Goes Live
Marketing and viewings begin.

👀 Viewings & Buyer Interest
This can take days or several weeks depending on price, presentation and market conditions.

🤝 Offer Accepted
Once a sale is agreed, the property is marked Sold Subject to Contract (SSTC).

📑 Conveyancing & Searches
Solicitors, searches, mortgage offers and surveys all take place. This is usually the longest stage.

✍️ Exchange of Contracts
The sale becomes legally binding and a completion date is agreed.

🔑 Completion Day
Funds are transferred, keys are handed over and the move can begin.
