What a weekend we've had in Old Hatfield... βπŸ‘

Salisbury Square opened to the community on 13th June, and it was fantastic to see so many people there on the day to enjoy exceptional food, drink and conversation - and the weather didn't disappoint!

On the Sunday, The Oak House Studio & Therapies led a community walk through Hatfield Park and Gardens, ending with a much-needed coffee at Sustain. Plus, the Old Hatfield Market was in full swing in the Stable Yard.

Did you visit Salisbury Square over the weekend? πŸ’¬

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the recent community questionnaire. πŸ’¬

After 18 years of careful planning, Salisbury Square marks an important milestone in Old Hatfield's regeneration, and Gascoyne Estates is pleased to have valuable input from the local community when planning for the years ahead.

Your thoughts and feedback are a key part of the Estate's placemaking strategy, so thank you for playing your part in the conversation.

Back in March, the Coach House Kitchen hosted a quiz night in aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation. The event was organised by Charlotte Attfield, who also ran the London Marathon 2026 in support of the charity! πŸƒ

The evening raised over Β£1,000, contributing to a remarkable total of Β£2,148.86 raised by Charlotte across her whole fundraising campaign!

Huge well done to Charlotte and everyone who supported her along the way. The quiz was a brilliant night for a brilliant cause - and events like this are exactly what make Old Hatfield the community it is. πŸŽ‰

Trees are going in, pathways are taking shape and the team are busy laying the foundations for what will be a welcoming, community-focused outdoor space. There's still plenty to do, but the progress is exciting to see.

If you'd like to see the full plans for the space, including the children's play area, seating and accessible pathways, drawings are still on display at York House.

We loved seeing Old Hatfield's business community come together for this event, and with so much on the horizon for the area, it felt particularly fitting to gather, connect and look ahead.

From the Theatre to the Church... 🎭

At the Old Hatfield Residents Association's latest community talk, Bishop Rob Gillion - joined by his wife, Janine - shared a remarkable life story spanning a career as a professional actor, ordination in the Church of England, and ministry across Hong Kong, the Australian Outback, and beyond.

Today, Bishop Rob brings his skills from the stage to work in our local community through storytelling, broadcasting and theatre projects for young people. Thank you to the OHRA for organising, and to Bishop Rob and Janine for such an engaging evening!

Save the date: The next OHRA talk is on Monday 22nd June, featuring award-winning novelist Bobbie Darbyshire on the art and tribulations of writing novels. πŸ“–
