Well I never!
Did you know that until the 1940s there was a 9 hole course at Hawes situated to the east of Hawes at Browna Paddocks. Hawes Golf Club later moved to a new course at Rains Hill, between
Hardraw and Hawes. Membership was 3/6d per week and day visitors paid 1/- a day.
The original course reverted to full time agricultural use in the 1960s and the club was disbanded.
