This is one mean hip-end! 😈

Two different pitches meeting perfectly on one elongated hip, designed to carry 2 large Velux’s over the kitchen diner and flood the space with natural light.

The standout feature has to be that monster hip beam, built up from 3 x 10”x3” timbers.
Absolutely mega. Probably overkill… but we’d rather build it once and build it right. Proper cut roof carpentry doing what it does best.

This is the kind of structure that disappears once boarded and plastered, but the strength and precision underneath is what makes the whole build work. For our good friends 🔨📐👑

Spider frame locked in 🕷️

Complex roofs need proper thinking, proper setting out and proper graft.

The steel skeleton layout looked like a spider and is carrying multiple roof lines, hips and valleys, creating the backbone for this hand-cut roof we’ve finished up for

Traditional craftsmanship on a serious scale 🔨

This one’s a proper loft conversion — all hand-cut roof, no shortcuts, just skilled graft. We’re currently installing the full structure: steels going in, new floor system formed, and pushing on with the roof including the flat tops.

Over 60 steel beams going into the top floor alone on this project… gives you an idea of the size of this space 👀

Big structure, tight tolerances, and everything tying together exactly as it should. This is where experience matters. Big shout out to .f.fosters_steels for their precision!

Hand cut roof just pitched 🔨

Big focus on this one was creating those vaulted ceilings, all set out to maximise height and keep the lines clean right through the space 👌 makes a massive difference once it’s opened up.

Multiple valleys cut in and running true, all formed sharp and tying in perfectly with the existing. Steels in place doing the work behind the scenes, taking the loads so we can achieve the open feel without compromise.

Most people think roofs like this come pre-made… they don’t.

Hand cut hipped roof framed and completed in a single day. 🔨

Every rafter measured, cut and pitched on site, only geometry and skill used.

A lot of setting out, a lot of cuts… but when it all comes together like this it’s worth it 🔨📐

Every project has a story behind it.

We were recently asked to step in and take over this job in West London after the previous contractor was unfortunately unable to complete the works. Our priority was making the structure safe, secure and moving the project forward for the homeowners.

During our assessment we discovered the flat roof build-up had failed, so the best course of action was to strip it back and rebuild it properly.

From new structural timberwork, to fresh decking and a fully renewed waterproofing system, this roof is now built to perform for the long term. Big thanks to for another perfect job!

Sometimes the most important part of construction isn’t just building… it’s putting things right and giving clients confidence in their home again.

Good progress made and looking forward to pushing this project forward. 👷‍♂️🏗️🔨📐

Low level roof structure taking shape on this renovation for 🔨

Lean to roof installed along the elevation with a counter-levered porch detail formed over the front door to create a clean looking canopy.

Careful setting out here to keep the pitch consistent and tie everything neatly back into the existing property. 🔨📐

Another one wrapped up ✔️

Recently completed this beautiful kitchen install for our lovely family down in Lyme Regis 🌊

Clean handleless cabinetry, crisp quartz worktops, and a bold navy island with feature panelling to bring it all together. The large sliders and rooflight absolutely flood the space with natural light – proper transformation from start to finish.

We love creating kitchens that aren’t just showpieces but practical, hard-wearing family spaces built to last.
