We can all do our bit to help protect people, wildlife and our communities. This includes:

- Checking smoke alarms are working
- Disposing of BBQs safely
- Being mindful of wildfire risks
- Watching out for sunlight fires
- Not lighting bonfires
- Knowing what to do if you discover a fire

Preventing fires caused by sunlight 🔥☀

You may not expect sunlight to start a fire, but it can happen. When sunlight passes through certain objects, it can become focused. This creates heat strong enough to ignite nearby materials.

Common causes of sunlight fires:
• Glass objects like bottles or vases
• Crystal ornaments or mirrors
• Magnifying mirrors
• Reflective surfaces near windows

How to stay safe:
• Keep glass and reflective items away from windows
• Close curtains or blinds during strong sunlight
• Avoid leaving bottles or glass objects on windowsills
• Move mirrors and ornaments out of direct sun paths
• Be mindful of where sunlight falls during different times of the day

A simple change in where you place objects can prevent serious damage to your home.

We’ve reached an exciting milestone - our 7,000th home under our management since we were established in 2000 🏡.

To celebrate, we met with the customer who’s moved into this special home at New Monks Park in Lancing.
