NOW THAT IS A LOFT TRANSFORMATION!!! 🏠

The original loft had limited access, old insulation and nowhere suitable for storage. We completely upgraded it with:

🔸 30m² of raised loft boarding
🔸 New insulation installed beneath the raised flooring
🔸 Existing hatch extended
🔸 New folding wooden loft ladder
🔸 New loft light
🔸 Smoke detector repositioned
🔸 Clean, solid and easily accessible storage space

The raised system keeps the new boarding clear of the insulation, helping maintain its performance while creating loads of usable storage.

🏠 IS YOUR LOFT COSTING YOU MONEY?

Most homeowners use their loft for storage, but very few realise that the way their loft is boarded can have a huge impact on both energy efficiency and the lifespan of their insulation.

Recent industry research highlights some eye-opening statistics:

📊 13 million UK homes still only meet loft insulation standards dating back to 1976.

📊 A poorly insulated loft can account for up to 25% of a home’s heat loss, potentially increasing energy bills year after year.

📊 Around 80% of homeowners use their loft for storage, regardless of whether the insulation is protected or not.

📊 A usable loft storage area could add up to £18,000 to the value of a typical four-bedroom home.

The problem is that many lofts have boards laid directly onto the insulation. This compresses the insulation, reducing its effectiveness and preventing it from performing as intended.

At XTRASPACE Loft Boarding, we install raised loft boarding systems that are specifically designed to create a strong, safe storage area while allowing the insulation beneath to maintain its performance.

Our raised systems sit above the insulation, helping to prevent compression and ensuring you don’t have to choose between storage space and energy efficiency.

We can also:

✔️ Install new loft insulation to current recommendations

✔️ Replace old or damaged insulation

✔️ Install loft ladders for safe access

✔️ Upgrade loft lighting

✔️ Enlarge loft hatches

✔️ Strengthen loft floors where required

✔️ Remove old boarding, insulation and waste

With many new build homes lacking adequate storage space, a professionally boarded loft is one of the most practical and cost-effective ways of creating additional storage without losing a bedroom, filling the garage or cluttering up your living space.

Every loft is different, which is why we offer a free survey and quotation with honest advice on the best solution for your home.
