Mulberry Homes build attractive new build houses but the quality on this plot gets just 2⭐️ as we found issues outside including a waterlogged garden and gutters failing to to then finding underfloor heating zones underperforming and lack of insulation inside. If you’ve got a new build or are in the process of buying one, make sure to to get a Home Snag by one of our qualified Surveyors

This new build by Tilia Homes has a leatherjacket & woodlice infestation 🐛 & due to over 200 other snags our professional snagger found, we’re rating it 1⭐️. Snags ranged from a leaking bath and sink to cracked render and blocked drains. If you’re buying or have moved into a new build, make sure to book a home snag before it’s too late 👷‍♂️🏚️

After March madness, the team have earned a break, so the office will be closed for Easter Bank Holiday from 5:30pm today and will reopen on Tuesday 7th at 9am as usual.

Please note that some of our inspectors are still working over the bank holidays, so if your appointment is booked in on these days, this will still go ahead. These hours only apply to our Admin Team.

A brand new “net zero” home… already leaking through the ceiling and letting draughts through…
This affordable housing property built by Equans scored just 0.5⭐️ on our inspection.
The good news? The customer now has a detailed snagging report, backed by the correct tolerances — giving them the evidence they need to push for repairs.

Join our professional snagger as he carries out a pre-completion inspection on a David Wilson new build which we’re rating 3⭐️. There were some examples of how things should be done such as a really nicely presented garden with topsoil but equally some issues that that let it down such as an unconnected extraction duct and a leaking radiator. With us going in pre-completion, at least these snags can get fixed before the Customer collects the keys next week. Overall, a commendable handover 👏👷‍♂️🏡

Imagine buying a new build with no cavity wall insulation. This Miller Homes plot has just completed and gets 0.5⭐️. 👷‍♂️🏚️ It was a last-minute decision for the Customer to add on our Thermal Lite service to their Snagging Survey. That turned out to be a great decision as things didn’t add up when checking the walls inside with the thermal camera… So he drilled in the walls outside to check the cavity using a Borescope camera, and there was no insulation anywhere. It’s a great example of the importance of getting a professional snagger to check your new build and it’s a small price to pay considering what we found here

This may just be the worst new build we’ve ever inspected. 🏚️👷‍♂️We raised over 300 snags, many of them serious issues such as dangerous stairs and fire safety flaws. The homeowner is taking the builder to court armed with our snagging survey - which is why we’re not naming them in this instance. It shows the importance of getting us around to do a survey when buying from a small developer. For more new build snagging videos please like + follow our channel 🙏

Hallelujah 🙌 we’ve snagged a Persimmon new build and it’s not too bad. Not all new builds are bad… For a large house, we raised a fraction of the amount of snags we’d normally find - but a few important issues in the stairs and loft let it down. Our scoring rating rates this house 4/5⭐️. The homeowner now has a comprehensive snag list and peace of mind our professional snagger has been through the house thoroughly. Our survey is a small amount to pay in consideration this new build will likely be their most expensive purchase. Follow us for more new build snagging tips and developer ratings 👷‍♂️

Do new build developers fix the issues after our snagging survey? .. We snagged this Redrow new build 4 months ago & recently went back to do a re-inspection where we identified snags fixed to a good standard vs. those still outstanding.
