One thing staging should never do is hide problems.

We’re not in the business of masking issues or making a property look like something it isn’t.

If your walls need painting, I’ll tell you.
If the carpet needs replacing, I’ll tell you.
If the furniture layout isn’t working, I’ll tell you.

Good staging isn’t about covering up the flaws, it’s about showing your property at its best, while being honest about what needs attention.

Sometimes a small investment can make a huge difference. And sometimes I’ll tell you not to spend the money.

It’s all about knowing where to invest, what to leave, and how to make your home work harder when it goes to market.

Designing a room isn’t about following trends, it’s about creating a space that feels considered, functional and uniquely yours.

Every project starts here: exploring colours, textures and materials, balancing practicality with personality, and bringing together a scheme that works for the people who live there.

Whether you’re moving into a new home, refreshing a tired space, or preparing to sell, thoughtful design choices can make all the difference. Get in touch for a free phone consultation to discuss further.

Less really is more.

When preparing a home for sale, it’s not about removing all personality, it’s about creating space for buyers to imagine their own.

By editing back collections, reducing visual clutter and styling with intention, this dresser becomes a feature rather than a distraction.

The goal isn’t to make a house feel empty. It’s to make it feel bigger, calmer and more inviting.

A productive week, and one that feels like an exciting step forward.

When I first launched Stage This, my focus was simple: helping people prepare their homes for sale.

But as time has gone on, I’ve realised that great styling isn’t just for moving day.

A well-designed home can make everyday life feel calmer, more functional and more enjoyable. Whether you’re staying put, renovating, welcoming guests, or simply want to fall back in love with your space, thoughtful styling has the power to completely change how a home feels.

This week I’ve been working behind the scenes refining the website, redefining my services, and shaping Stage This into something that supports not only people selling their homes, but homeowners who want to create spaces they truly love living in.

More to be revealed soon!

One of the quickest (and cheapest) ways to make your home feel more buyer-friendly? Depersonalise.

As lovely as they are, family photos, children’s artwork, magnets and personal collections can make it harder for buyers to picture their life in your home.

When someone walks through the door, you want them imagining where their memories will be made, not focusing on yours.

It doesn’t mean stripping your home of personality. Just remove anything that’s very personal so the space feels calmer, cleaner and more universal.

Sometimes buyers don’t see potential, they see distractions.

This kitchen already had everything going for it. By removing visual clutter, the personal items, and adding carefully chosen items, we changed how the space feels without changing the kitchen itself.

Home staging isn’t about hiding flaws, it’s about helping buyers emotionally connect with a home from the moment they walk through the door.

One of the easiest home staging tips? Get the scent right.

When buyers walk through the door, they’re forming an opinion within seconds and smell plays a huge part in that first impression.

✔️ Choose fresh, clean fragrances like sage, vetiver, sea salt or soft green notes.
❌ Avoid overly sweet, spicy or seasonal scents such as vanilla, pumpkin or heavy florals, which can feel overpowering and distract from the home itself.

You don’t need to spend a fortune on Jo Malone or Diptyque to create that effect. HomeSense is full of beautiful candles and diffusers at a fraction of the price if you know what fragrances to look for.

Save this for when you’re getting your home ready to sell.
