Recently I was delighted that homeless young people were able to move into one of my houses which was recently refurbished and let to a great charity helping homeless young people to progress towards a brighter future.
What I love about this charity is their heart and passion about really helping to make a difference to young people who may have had to flee difficult life circumstances such as a family of origin who does not care, will not give them love or support, but maybe even psychological or physical abuse.
The difference with this charity is that they genuinely care about giving the support and being strong and caring role models for these young people, giving them time to recover, regain their footing and their belief in themselves and their own future.
The quality of the care and support helps these young people to believe that some adults do care. Indeed, their everyday example can provide role models to these youngsters and give them a vision of who they themselves may become in the future.
Part of the support for these young people maybe being taken to do activities such as bowling, gardening and learning to cook.
From my side, in this instance, my role is to provide safe quality Housing for the charity to do their work.
This involves ensuring all compliance is met, a refurbished home, with the right insurances and approvals given from lenders.
While my focus last year was to help busy and remote investors to buy property in London, this year I will be also focused on transitioning and refurbishing my own properties in the Social Housing space.
