Seesaw - where creatives work SEESAW is Manchester's new creative workplace community for work, social, learning and wellbeing.

SEESAW is a space for culture, community, work, art, wellbeing, coffee and food located at 86 Princess Street. One of Manchester’s historic warehouses reimagined as a creative hub, workspace, cafe, events and exhibition space.

CUSP RESIDENCY OPEN CALL: SUBMISSIONS OPEN!

Our bi-yearly open call for collaborators opens its doors again. We’re on the lookout for artists, collectives, arts organisations and micro businesses who need space, time and resources in order to realise a project in our space.

CUSP is a 6-month residency programme aimed to support a group from one of our studio spaces. This opportunity is FREE, there will be no fees to apply or throughout.

Deadline is Sunday 8th Nov at 23:59. Please do read the key info & eligibility criteria before applying.

Just a reminder that we have our own little artist-led art + bookshop here at SEESAW, that you’ve probably walked past a thousand times.

We stock local artists, poets, writers, designers and book makers (etc) works. Ranging from handmade ceramic lamps, to hand blown vases, badges and artist books - we have all sorts for you to gift (or keep👀)

Our fun lil shop is open alongside the cafe hours of 8:30 - 4pm every weekday, and also at our events whenever they happen.

If you have some kind of beautiful and handmade art/books/t shirts/badges/anything to sell - get in touch with us 🌟

Writer’s Social with Manchester City Of Literature ✍️

The Writer’s Social is an invitation for new writers and poets to mix with the lively literature scene here in Manchester, a UNESCO City of Literature since 2017. New to the city with an interest in or studying in literature? Gather to meet newbies and professionals alike who are in the literary community.

There will be readings from some of the city’s most exciting poets: Leyla Barakat, Jeremy Pak Nelson and Abhijeet Singh. Alongside a talk by a local publisher The Aftershock Review, a zine-making workshop with .picnic and extra literary goodies, games and giveaways. Team Trident Press will be creating a pamphlet to distribute on the night from the performing poets.

This event is a part of The Cultural Welcome, a special week of events around Oxford Road by Oxford Road Corridor

Unravelling Soft Opening 🧵

The exhibition, curated by Jasmine Gardner, is open until September 29th. Check it out during the week, or join us for the closing ceremony on the 25th, where there will be workshops, performances, prints for sale, and even karaoke!

Fri 21st 6-8 - q***r badge making club with rudy ☆, alongside a special coffee and poems club with Louis Glazzard

Wed 26th 5:30-8 - q***r art market with BEN SAUNDERS, selling art, clothing, jewellery, ceramics, plushies & more

Fri 28th 7-10 - paint & date with Rendezvous, a speed dating & life drawing fusion

Quiescence refers to a state of quietness, temporary inactivity, or rest. This condition mirrors the process of painting itself; a state of latency, suspension and contained potential. Ideas do not always emerge fully formed; instead they gather slowly, often beneath the surface of conscious thought, waiting for the right conditions to flourish.

Jamie’s work will be on show on show until the end of August, with the private view on Friday 7th, 6-9.
