Attention Homeowners and Landlords! 🚨
Big changes are coming to Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) in England, and you’ll want to start planning now.
In 2027, England is introducing a fairer, more detailed system called EPC 2.0. The old way of giving a property just one overall letter rating (A to G) is being replaced with an in-depth look at 4 key areas:
1️⃣ Fabric Performance (How well your home keeps heat inside)
2️⃣ Heating Systems (How efficiently it warms up)
3️⃣ Smart Readiness (How well it uses smart tech)
4️⃣ Energy Costs (A realistic look at your actual running costs)
What is the timeline?
Late 2027: The new system goes live.
October 2030: The proposed deadline for privately rented homes to meet the new standards, with an expected investment cost cap of £10,000.
Getting ahead of these changes now means a warmer home, lower energy bills, and a higher property value later.
