🏠 Important Update For Landlords — Register Your Rental Property
A new Government registration requirement is being introduced for private landlords across England as part of the Renters’ Rights Act 2025.
Landlords will be required to register themselves and each privately rented property on the Government’s new Private Rented Sector Database. The registration service is being introduced through a regional rollout from December 2026.
📍 NORTH EAST LANDLORDS
For properties in the North East, registration is scheduled to open on:
📅 15 June 2027
⏰ Registration deadline: 14 September 2027
The Government has also confirmed that landlords will be able to register earlier once the service opens nationally.
💷 £65 PER PROPERTY / YEAR
The registration fee is currently set at £65 per property per year.
What should landlords do now?
There is no need to register immediately if your regional registration window has not opened, but we recommend using this time to ensure your property and compliance information is up to date.

✔️ HMO/licensing information, where applicable
✔️ Gas Safety information
✔️ Electrical safety information
✔️ EPC information
✔️ Landlord contact details
