This National Fitness Day, we’re celebrating the different ways our residents have been getting active, connecting with others and supporting their wellbeing this summer. 🚶
At Tyne Housing, we know that getting active is about more than fitness. It can help build confidence, improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and bring people together.
Residents at our Southernwood young adults’ accommodation took part in a twice-weekly group workout programme, with activities including bodyweight circuits, jogging, football drills and strength exercises.
Meanwhile, our Progression Team ran fortnightly Wellbeing Walks, with around 20 residents joining staff and volunteers to explore local spaces across Whitley Bay, South Shields, Gateshead and Newcastle.
It’s been fantastic to see residents getting active, meeting new people and building confidence, with some going on to take part in other activities and services at Tyne Housing.
A huge thank you to everyone who got involved this summer!
