North East Workspace North East Workspace provides office space for new and existing businesses in Newcastle upon Tyne on

In 1986 we opened the Newcastle Youth Enterprise Centre (NYEC) at 25 Low Friar Street offering offices and workshops for starter businesses from computer software companies to candlemakers. The site attracted many characters and we still have existing tenants to date like The Crack Magazine and Mosedale Gillatt Architects who have stayed with us and others who are still going strong and now own their own offices. On the 31st March 1998 we said goodbye to our home for 15 years at 25 Low Friar Street and moved into The Old Post Office at 5 Pink Lane. The old premises became a residential block of flats developed by a local Housing Association as part of the Grainger Town Initiative. The Old Post Office now has three telecottages, one bedroom flats with associated office, ground floor meeting room with wifi connection and five occupied offices, not to mention a music production suite located in the basement occupied by The Beat Suite.
