The Tigers kick started their season on a bright morning at the rec on a bare pitch with real optimism for the year.
A decent start with some nice passing and strong running especially from
Rocco and Jack saw the Tigers dominate early exchanges before enduring a period of defending with Harrison commanding his back line. Eden looked sharp up front and a break down the left allowed him to centre for one of 3 Tigers racing forward. The ball fell to Baxter who hammered it home to take a deserved lead. With a shot against the post, a couple of near misses and a block on the line the Tigers felt they could have had more than the one goal lead at half time.
Second half struggled to get going with clearances not really going anywhere although Oscar looked a real threat on the right. Harvey raced back to prevent an opposition break quickly followed by potm Kenny and then Noah to s***f out danger but a cross come shot evaded Harrison to end up in the net 1-1. Which is how the game finished and although the Tigers had a string of chances in front of goal and from set pieces they couldn’t find the break through. Hunter and Luther looked solid in Defense and Finn used his pace well on the wing.
A better result than the start of last year, but the Tigers will feel this is one they should have put away.
On to the next game unbeaten and ready to score a bagful.

Friday Night at The Roxley was a great success!

Thank you to everyone who has made it possible to put on this event and also to our incredible audience who were singing and laughing through the evening. Thank you to our members who helped with organising all the fine details. Thanks to our front of house team, Friends and family for all your support.

Huge thanks go to the very talented Amanda who played so many wonderful songs to accompany us.
She has worked hard to locate music, rehearse on very hot evenings and perform beautifully for our singers.

We hope you enjoyed the concert and left feeling uplifted. We know we did! We will share news of proceeds that will be donated to our nominated charities very soon.
