☀️ Keeping Your Home Cool During Warm Weather ☀️
As an Estate Agent, I spend a lot of time talking about homes and how to make them as comfortable as possible throughout the year. With the warmer weather here, I thought I'd share a few simple tips to help keep your home cooler:
🏠 Close curtains and blinds on windows that get direct sunlight during the day.
🌬️ Open windows early in the morning and later in the evening when temperatures are cooler.
💧 Stay hydrated and keep a bottle of water nearby throughout the day.
🧊 Use fans wisely and place a bowl of ice or cool water in front of them for an extra cooling effect.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and avoid using ovens, tumble dryers, and other heat-generating appliances during the hottest part of the day.
🍓 Choose lighter meals and enjoy fruits with a high water content such as watermelon, strawberries, and cucumber.
💡 Switch off unnecessary electrical items – TVs, computers, chargers, and other electronics generate more heat than many people realise.
🚪 Keep internal doors open to allow air to circulate around the home more freely.
🛏️ Change your bedding – cotton sheets are generally cooler and more breathable than synthetic materials.
🚿 Run cool water over your wrists and feet – a simple way to help lower your body temperature.

🤰 As some of you may also know, I'm a fully trained Doula (birth worker), so I'm particularly aware that warm weather can be more challenging for pregnant people and families with babies. Extra hydration, keeping rooms cool and ventilated, and avoiding overheating are especially important.

🌊 We are lucky to live in such a beautiful area with rivers, streams, and stunning natural spaces. However, if you're tempted to cool off in open water, please remember that many local rivers are not designated swimming areas. Hidden currents, sudden changes in depth, cold water shock, and underwater hazards can make them much more dangerous than they appear. Always put safety first and only swim where it is known to be safe and permitted.

☀️ Stay cool, stay safe, and don't forget to check in on neighbours, older relatives, and anyone who may be struggling in the heat. Enjoy the sunshine responsibly! 🏡💙

North Crawley continues to be one of the area’s most sought-after villages, offering a rural lifestyle with easy access to Milton Keynes and Bedford. Demand remains strongest for detached family homes and character properties, with around a dozen homes currently available. Although buyers are more price-conscious than they were a few years ago, well-presented and correctly priced homes continue to attract strong interest. Overall, the market remains stable compared with last year, making North Crawley an attractive option for buyers seeking village life without sacrificing convenience.

Steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside, North Crawley is a thriving village located just a few miles east of Newport Pagnell.
📜 The village dates back to Saxon times and was recorded in the Domesday Book in 1086 as “Crauelai”, meaning “a clearing frequented by crows”.
👥 Home to around 700 residents, North Crawley combines rural charm with a strong sense of community.
⛪ St Firmin’s Church, a Grade I listed building, is one of only a handful of churches in the UK dedicated to St Firmin.
🍺 Did you know? North Crawley once had three pubs – The Chequers, The C**k Inn and The Castle. Today, The Chequers remains at the heart of village life, hosting quiz nights, live music and community events.
🏏 The village is also home to a popular primary school, cricket club, bowls club, village hall and local shop, making it a wonderful place for families and commuters alike.
With its mix of character cottages, family homes and stunning countryside, it’s easy to see why North Crawley remains one of the area’s most sought-after villages.

Knowing which streets have seen the most sales can reveal where buyer demand is strongest, provide more recent price comparisons, and give homeowners greater confidence when it comes to valuing or selling their property.

And while these figures highlight the most active roads, it’s equally worth noting that some of Carlton’s most desirable locations don’t appear on the list simply because homes rarely become available. Quiet cul-de-sacs and sought-after spots with limited stock can be highly prized, with properties often attracting strong interest when they do come to market. 🏡✨
