The Old School is filled with fascinating pieces collected over many years, each with its own story to tell.

This beautiful antique clock is one of our favourite treasures and perfectly captures the spirit of the house, elegant, a little quirky and impossible to ignore.

Guests often discover something new every time they walk through the room, whether it’s an unusual piece of artwork, a vintage find or a decorative detail hidden in plain sight.

It’s one of the reasons no two stays at The Old School ever feel quite the same.

Rain forecast? Perfect. 📚

Tucked throughout The Old School you’ll find shelves filled with books covering everything from travel and wildlife to Scottish history and far-flung adventures.

Guests often tell us they arrive with plans to explore every corner of the Borders… then find themselves happily curled up in an armchair for an hour or two with a book and a coffee.

Not that we blame them.

The hardest decision might be whether to head out for a walk along the Tweed or read just one more chapter.

Today’s lesson is all about colour, pattern and personality.

At The Old School, we’ve never been particularly interested in staying inside the lines.

This bedroom combines bold wallpaper, beautiful fabrics and carefully curated antiques to create a space that’s as unique as the building itself.

Fortunately, there will be no exam at the end of today’s lesson.

Your only assignment is to enjoy a long lie-in, a leisurely breakfast and perhaps a wander around beautiful Peebles.

Homework remains strictly forbidden.
