The latest Rightmove House Price Index is out — and the headline is getting a lot of attention.
Nationally, the average asking price has fallen by 0.6% this month, the biggest June fall in 14 years.
But this is not a market without buyers.
It is a market where buyers have more choice, more time, and are being far more selective.
For sellers in Reading, that means one thing: pricing and presentation now matter more than ever.
The homes that stand out are still attracting interest. The homes that are overpriced, poorly presented, or launched without a proper strategy are the ones struggling to gain momentum.
Reading remains a strong local market, supported by employment, connectivity, schools, the university, the hospital, the Elizabeth Line and ongoing investment.
But sellers cannot rely on the market doing all the work.
The right strategy matters.
Price correctly from day one.
Present properly.
Create competition.
And make sure your agent understands the local micro-market, not just the national headlines.
If you are thinking of selling in Reading and want to understand what this means for your home, message me and I will give you a clear, honest view of where your property sits in today’s market.
