Well, today has been an odd one.
Two leverets were found near our site in need of help. One had been attacked by a magpie and the other wouldn't leave it's injured sibling.
And so began Operation Doolittle.
After chasing away said magpie and catching the two fluffy bundles we managed to get them into a box and deliver them to our friends at Swanzdale Veterinary Practice to check them over, and then Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary kindly came to collect them to take them away to their animal sanctuary where they can be nursed back to full health and rehabilitated!

Please note that generally, when you find a leveret (baby hare) out in the wilderness you should leave it be unless it is visibly injured or with a deceased adult. Had these 2 sweet babies not been attacked by a magpie we would have left them alone for mum to come find them.

Absolute shout out to Swanzdale Veterinary Care Centre and Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary for the amazing work they do!
