Small Infrastructure Grant now open for applications in Wales.

Farmers in Wales can now apply for funding towards new roofing over existing livestock feeding areas, livestock gathering areas and manure storage areas. Funding is available at a standard cost of £40 per m² of roof installed, with:

• Minimum grant award: £3,000
• Maximum grant award: £15,000 per CRN per financial year

For anyone considering applying, it’s important to look at the project as a whole. Planning, drainage and any necessary approvals should be considered at an early stage alongside the grant requirements. Planning permission and SAB approval will need to be in place where required before the grant is claimed.

Considering these requirements early can help identify potential issues and ensure the proposed project meets the relevant criteria before work progresses. Congratulations to Pip Maddocks on two fantastic achievements.

This week, Pip graduated from Harper Adams University after completing her degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management (REALM), with even more reason to celebrate as she was also presented with the RICS Apprentice Award. Pip joined Roger Parry & Partners in September 2021 and has spent the past five years combining her academic studies with practical experience, developing her knowledge and expertise within our Rural team.

Reaching this milestone alongside developing her career is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment Pip has shown throughout her time with us. Congratulations, Pip, from everyone at Roger Parry & Partners. We look forward to seeing you continue to develop your career with us.

That’s a wrap on UK Dairy Day 2026, and our final event of the year!

It was a fantastic way to round off a busy 2026, with a great atmosphere at Telford International Centre and plenty of valuable conversations throughout the day.

Our Managing Partner, Richard Corbett, also joined the ‘Building for the Future’ panel, sharing his planning expertise and discussing some of the key considerations for farmers looking to invest in and develop their businesses.

SFI26 Window 2 is expected to open on 22nd September, are you ready to apply?

With Window 2 expected to open to all eligible farmers and land managers in England, now is the time to prepare. Before applications open, farmers should check that their digital maps and land-use information are accurate. Incorrect information could prevent an application from being submitted, so identifying any issues in advance could help avoid unnecessary delays.

It's also worth reviewing which SFI actions are appropriate for your farm. The right approach isn't simply about choosing available actions; consideration should be given to how they fit with your land, farming system, existing agreements and longer-term business plans. Funding for SFI26 Window 2 has also been increased by £50 million as part of the Government's drought-support measures, taking the total SFI26 budget to £290 million.

With Window 2 opening more widely than the first round, demand is expected to be higher. Preparing now means you can understand your options and be ready when applications open.
