Bakewell is a fantastic base for walking holidays, with everything from easy riverside strolls to longer Peak District hikes.

Some good options to feature for Precious Places Home Bakewell are:

🥾 Monsal Trail - a traffic-free former railway route with tunnels, viaducts and beautiful views. The full trail is around 8.5 miles, but it’s easy to do shorter sections.

🏡 Bakewell → Chatsworth - around 6–8 miles, taking in countryside, woodland, Edensor and views of Chatsworth House.

🌿 Lathkill Dale - a beautiful limestone valley with rivers, waterfalls and dramatic scenery. A typical circular route is around 4 miles, with longer options from Bakewell.

🌳 Bakewell → Rowsley - around 8 miles through White Peak countryside, with a return section along the Derwent Valley.

🏰 Bakewell → Haddon Hall - a lovely option combining countryside walking with one of Derbyshire's historic houses.
