When it comes to preparing your home for viewings, our first piece of advice might surprise you…

🚶 Leave the house!

In an ideal world, we’d recommend the owners go out for a walk, take the dog out or grab a coffee.

Why?

It allows us, as your estate agents, to do our job properly and gives potential buyers the opportunity to feel comfortable, ask questions openly and imagine themselves living in your home.

Sometimes buyers can feel a little awkward when the owners are present, particularly when discussing what they do and don’t like about a property.

🐶 Our second piece of advice is to think about smells.

If you cooked something particularly strong the night before, or you have pets at home, it’s worth being aware that you may have become used to smells that a buyer notices immediately.

Open the windows, air the house out and make sure your home feels fresh and welcoming.

Small details can make a big difference when it comes to viewings.
