🚨 Important update for landlords and renters!

The government has announced further changes under the Renters’ Rights Act, bringing stronger protections for renters and new requirements for landlords.

📢 A new national landlord registration service will begin rolling out from 15th December 2026, starting in the West Midlands and expanding across England over the following 12 months.

For landlords, registration will become a legal requirement, with registration numbers eventually needing to appear on property adverts.

For renters, the new system is intended to provide greater transparency and confidence when choosing a property and landlord.

There are also planned changes to how rent increase challenges are handled, with the Valuation Office taking on responsibility for initial rent determinations in England in the future.

As a letting agent, we believe keeping landlords and tenants informed about these changes is essential.

📢 Important Update for Landlords, Tenants & Property Managers!

Big changes are coming to the private rented sector in England - and they will affect how we all work together in 2026 and beyond. From 1st May 2026, the Renters’ Rights Act will start to take effect, bringing in the biggest reform to tenancy law in decades. 🏘️✨

🔹 Section 21 “no-fault” evictions will be abolished - landlords will no longer be able to evict tenants without a valid reason.

🔹 Fixed-term tenancies will convert to periodic tenancies.

🔹 Rent increases can only happen once per year and must follow the correct process.

🔹 More security and rights for tenants, while still providing clear grounds for landlords to regain possession where reasonable.

These changes are designed to create a fairer and more transparent rental market for everyone - but they also mean we all need to prepare now so that agreements, paperwork and processes are compliant when the new rules kick in. 📄🔍
