We’re Hiring: Setting Out Engineer 📍 South Wales
Are you a precision-driven Setting Out Engineer looking for consistent work close to home?
C2 Groundworks is expanding, and we are looking for a skilled engineer to join our team. We have a solid pipeline of projects across South Wales, meaning less time commuting and more time on-site doing what you do best.
The Role
You’ll be a key part of our site teams, ensuring every project starts with pinpoint accuracy. Your responsibilities will include:
• Setting out foundations, drainage, and infrastructure.
• Conducting topographical surveys and as-built surveys.
• Collaborating with site managers and subcontractors to keep projects on track.
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality control.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience in groundworks or civil engineering.
• Proficiency with modern surveying equipment (Robotic Total Stations/GPS).
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
• A valid CSCS card (relevant engineering qualifications preferred).

🏗️ Project Update: Progress in Abertridwr
Big things are happening on-site in Abertridwr! Our team has been hard at work delivering a comprehensive groundworks package for our client, M & J COSGROVE CONSTRUCTION LIMITED

It’s been a busy few weeks, and we’re proud to showcase the precision and quality going into every stage of this build. Current progress includes:
• Foundation Excellence: Completion of robust Raft foundations.
• Essential Infrastructure: Full installation of internal and external drainage systems and essential services.
• Specialist Protection: Expert install of Solco membrane for superior gas and structural protection.
• Site Connectivity: Road construction is officially underway to tie the project together.
A huge shoutout to our dedicated crew on the ground for maintaining high standards and keeping us on schedule. We value the continued partnership with the team at M&J Cosgrove Construction as we bring this project to life.

Project Completion in Penygraig! 🏗️

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our project “just down the road” in Penygraig for our valued client, Cartrefi.
This was an extensive full-package groundworks contract that allowed our team to showcase their versatility and expertise. From the initial break-ground to the final finishes, we delivered:
• Structural Integrity: Retaining walls and precision foundations.
• Infrastructure: Full SABs (Sustainable Drainage Systems) and Highway adopted construction.
• The Finishing Touch: High-quality external finishes to wrap up the site.

🚁 Exciting progress captured from above!

Our drone footage showcases the substructure works underway at our Fairwater development for our client, Cartrefi.

A special mention to Supervisor Matthew Ferris and his team, who have done exceptionally well in driving this project forward — particularly given the challenges of taking over from a contractor that went into administration. Their commitment and hard work have ensured smooth progress and a solid foundation for the development ahead.

We’re proud to be delivering for our client and looking forward to sharing more milestones as the project continues.

🚁 Project Progress Update – Barry Site for Hale Group Ltd 🚧

We’re excited to share some fantastic drone footage captured by Kieran Belmont, showcasing the impressive progress being made on our latest project in Barry for our valued client, Hale Group Ltd.

The team has hit the ground running, with:

✅ Cut and fill operations well underway
✅ S38 road construction progressing smoothly
✅ Pile mat construction taking shape
✅ Full site setup established
✅ Section 278 works forming the new access into site

It’s great to see this development come to life, and it’s a real testament to the hard work, commitment, and collaboration of everyone involved.

We are thrilled to share that we have been awarded the full Groundworks package for a brand-new housing development in Barry, providing much-needed homes to the area.

This exciting project consists of 56 units and is being delivered on behalf of our highly valued client, Hale Group Ltd. We are proud to continue our partnership with JG Hale and contribute to delivering high-quality housing for the local community.
