The Government has now published the official information sheet which landlords and their agents must provide by the end of May 2026 to existing tenants whose tenancies are converting under the new legislation. This marks another key step towards implementation and helps ensure landlords are prepared to meet their legal obligations.

This afternoon, the Renters’ Rights Bill cleared the House of Commons, marking the final parliamentary milestone in its journey to becoming law. The Bill now awaits Royal Assent when it will become an Act.

The NRLA received a mention from the Housing Minister, Matthew Pennycook, who thanked us for our continued engagement with Government throughout the Bill’s development.
