IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT – NINE OAKS FACEBOOK
A New Chapter for Nine Oaks
Effective 1st April 2026, the Nine Oaks Housing Trust has officially transferred ownership and all operations to Abbeyfield Living Society.
While our independent Trust is winding down, this is a heartfelt homecoming to our original 1969 roots. Our residents will continue to enjoy the same wonderful apartments, gardens, and facilities - now with the added support of Abbeyfield’s national expertise.
A huge thank you to our residents, our incredible staff and trustees, and the entire Windermere community: thank you for your unwavering support and friendship over the decades. The Nine Oaks spirit is stronger than ever!

We are getting ready for Easter. This blue sky and lots of Lambs are making it feel like spring has sprung. 🏡

This week we have had the young people from Goodly Dale school in to sing some christmas carols for us. It was lovely, thanks to Sarah Blacow for organising with us. 🏡

We recently celebrated with a Harvest lunch at Thornton House with delicious food, bingo and a harvest gift. 🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁

This week we have heard all about Cyd the seagull that we rescued from the entrance of the driveway. With lots of research, patience, care and overnight stay in foster care with Karen at her home he was taken and safely delivered to the Bardsea Bird Sanctuary and is doing well. Never a dull moment at Nine Oaks🏡
