Many farmers are overlooking one of the cheapest and most nutritious livestock feeds that can be grown right on a dam.

Azolla is a fast-growing aquatic fern rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals, making it an excellent supplement for cattle, poultry, goats, pigs, and fish.
How it's prepared in a dam:
✅ Select a calm section of the dam with shallow water.
✅ Create a confined growing area using nets, wooden frames, or floating barriers to prevent Azolla from spreading uncontrollably.
✅ Add a small amount of manure to boost nutrient availability.
✅ Introduce Azolla culture into the enclosed section.
✅ Within a few days, the surface will be covered with a thick green mat ready for harvesting.
✅ Harvest regularly and feed it fresh or mix it with other feeds.
