In a recent article, OneRoof editor Owen Vaughan said that the housing market “has the jitters” — but not everywhere.
Among nearly 1,000 suburbs analysed, Omaha was named one of only three high-value “safe havens” in the country — alongside Arrowtown and Lake Hayes. Values up 8% in three months, while much of Auckland has been going the other way.
I’ve always called Omaha my halo suburb. Here’s why:
- The best surf beach in the country — less than an hour from Auckland’s CBD
- Capped at just 1,200 residential sites — no intensification, ever
- Modern infrastructure built for the future
- The lifestyle reset Auckland life demands — without giving up proximity to the city
In 12 years selling here, I’ve watched this market reward patient owners time and again. Hold for three years or more, and most owners walk away pleasantly surprised.
This is not luck. It’s scarcity, lifestyle, and location doing what they always do.
