That Rental Plug That Rental Plug Limited - A Property Management Company that cares! That Rental Plug Limited is a company founded by me, Daisy Pedersen.

I am a wife to John Pedersen, a mum to our angel baby Delilah Pedersen and as a child I grew up in an overcrowded social housing house, and I have definitely come to appreciate property, property investment, and financial management. I offer to save landlords precious dollars in property management a week, while providing efficiency and professionalism and maintain an empathetic and personal approach. My biggest difference from other agencies is that I actually and genuinely care about people. I have helped around 40 Maori and Pacific families (that I know of) in 2022 simply by giving advice through tiktok videos. Furthermore, my mission is to end this homelessness issue in NZ by educating those in my community about renting and by teaming up with Landlords who care. Today, Evanzy and I held a rental workshop hosted by AWHI Healthy Homes
Caroline from AWHI Healthy Homes got in touch with me and shared stories about children falling sick due to unhealthy homes.
Even though I am 3 months postpartum, and self conscious about my baby brain, I decided to say “yes” to doing this workshop because children falling sick due to their home is important work (They also said that no one else they contacted was responding to this request)
I’m glad we said “yes”.

We really had the best time with you all!

Today, I was reminded of why we started TRP, why we decided to enter this industry.

My main reason and purpose for starting this Property Management company was to bridge a gap between this crazy industry and our people.

I am so grateful for all the women who attended today, for attending despite what you had going on at home, and for the stories you shared with us today. I honour all of you for attending and sharing.

Thank you AWHI Healthy Homes for having us, for organising today and for the ongoing work you do for families.

Today, we supported a young mum to make a police report about violence from her partner.

One of the hardest parts was hearing that she was told it was "too late" to report.

It was heartbreaking, because this is exactly why so many mums don't come forward straight away.

When people ask, "Why didn't she report it sooner?" they often don't understand what it's like to live with family violence. Many women are trying to survive while protecting their children. They're afraid of retaliation, worried they won't be believed, financially dependent on their partner, isolated from support, or holding onto hope that things will change. Trauma can also make it incredibly difficult to speak up.

No one should feel that they have missed their chance to be heard because they weren't ready to report sooner.

As a community, we need to stop asking why women didn't leave or report earlier, and start asking what support they needed to feel safe enough to do so.

Our role is to walk alongside them, believe them, support them, and help them navigate the systems that are meant to protect them. Every woman deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, no matter when she finds the strength to come forward.
